Insects, bats, light and vampires:

It is known that bats, although almost blind, are drawn to light sources. The reason for this is simple – they know they will find delicious bugs there. However, why are insects drawn towards light? Surprisingly – nobody knows. If you ever decide to study entomology, discovering the reason for this may earn you a doctorate. It is also a known myth that garlic repels vampires. While we have never seen a vampire in real life, one thing is known – the smell of garlic does repel mosquitoes. Close enough, right?
